Botox is a type of non-invasive cosmetic procedure that reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This treatment is typically considered by men and women who are in their 40’s, 50’s, or older. Nowadays, however, more women—and even men—in their 20’sand 30’s have chosen to undergo this non-surgical procedure as a preventive measure against fines lines and wrinkles.
If you are in the habit of scrunching your forehead and brows or wrinkling your nose, you could be prone to developing fine lines and wrinkles earlier than most. For a lot of people who are in the habit of making elaborate facial expressions, Botox injections is an excellent way to prevent future wrinkles and lines.
How so?
Botox treatment temporarily paralyzes the muscles on the areas where the injections were administered. This prevents you from frowning, scrunching your eyebrows, or making your usual “dramatic” facial expressions. This, in turn, prevents lines and wrinkles from appearing on your face. Additionally, when you are unable to make these usual expressions, the treatment acts as a measure that helps you avoid the habit of scrunching or wrinkling your facial features. So even when effects of the treatment have worn off, you are less likely to return to your facial habit since you got so used to not doing it anymore.
Note: Botox injections do not restrict normal facial expressions. You may only be prevented from making “more exaggerated” expressions while the muscles are still temporarily stiffened.</em
