Among the advantages of Ultherapy are that it’s non-invasive, meaning it leaves no scars or permanent marks; there is no required recovery period as well, and the results are natural in that it helps your skin lift and tone itself. But as is the case with all medical procedures, there are certain guidelines to be followed when caring for your skin after an Ultherapy session.
Makeup
Immediately after an Ultherapy treatment, your skin should feel smoother, tighter, and overall a lot more youthful. While this might seem like a pretty good excuse to put on your favorite foundation and blush-on, there might be some sensitivity, redness, or bruising. In any case, avoid makeup or any skin care products that may irritate your skin. Otherwise, you may resume your normal morning rituals.
Sunblock
To keep the color of your skin constant and to prevent sunburn, put on a sunblock cream that has an SPF 30 rating that corresponds to the amount of sunlight your area receives on an average day. Treat this like you would a day out on the beach. Sunblock helps minimize the incidence of swelling and redness. It would be much better, though, if you could avoid exposing yourself to extremes of hot and cold, at least for the next few weeks while your skin recovers from the procedure.
Other Skin Treatments
It is often said that Ultherapy in combination with Botox or other skin treatments produces fantastic results. Generally speaking, it is safe to have a Botox treatment at least 2 weeks after the procedure to ensure that the inflammation has subsided. The same goes for all other procedures in which inflammation might be a contraindication.
