EmSculpt was first introduced to the public back in 2018. It’s a non-invasive treatment for toning muscles on areas with stubborn fats. In 2020, EmSculpt Neo was introduced. It’s an FDA-cleared non-invasive treatment for the abdomen, arms, and thighs — areas where fat generally accumulates and that which people have a difficult time getting rid of no matter how much they exercise or eat healthy. It is also FDA approved to lift and tone the buttocks.
What is EmSculpt Neo and what does it do?
EmSculpt Neo combines the original high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology with radiofrequency (RF) energy to deliver optimal muscle toning and fat burning results.
The original EmSculpt procedure first introduced in 2018 uses HIFEM technology to stimulate the body to build and tone the muscles on the target areas. The target areas are generally those that individuals have a difficult time toning and contouring despite regular workouts, a healthy diet, and basically, a healthy lifestyle.
With that said, patients are reminded that the EmSculpt procedure isn’t a weight loss solution, debunking the common misconception that body contouring and fat burning treatments like the EmSculpt is for obesity.
Patients who come in for EmSculpt for obesity treatment can instead be provided with a customized weight loss program. Once they have achieved their ideal weight or have a BMI of up to 35, they are then reassessed for the EmSculpt procedure.
EmSculpt Neo ideal candidate
Patients with a BMI of up to 35, are physically healthy, and with small stubborn fats on the belly area, arms, and thighs are the ideal candidate for the EmSculpt Neo treatment. The EmSculpt technology builds muscles on the target areas to give them a more toned and contoured appearance; and the RF technology burns stubborn fats on the target areas as well. Combining these two, the patient is able to achieve more toned muscles and a slimmer look.
Based on studies, patients experience up to 30% fat reduction and 25% increase in muscle volume after four sessions.
On that note, initial treatment generally requires four sessions, spaced at five to ten-day intervals; though up to 8 treatments are needed , to achieve optimal results.
EmSculpt procedure for buttocks
The EmSculpt Neo is likewise ideal for healthy patients (still with a BMI of up to 35) who wish to lift and tone their buttocks without surgery. Patients who undergo this procedure may experience muscle increase and fat reduction on the buttocks. If you do not wish to lose volume on the buttocks but still want to give it a good lift, ask your provider if they can administer the EmSculpt procedure without the RF treatment.</p.
